To All the Real Dads. . .

This was my post from last year. I felt that it could use a little dusting off, I still feel the same way.
Happy Father's Day to all those Dads.....

Who tuck their kids in at night, know the names of their kids teachers and friends, change diapers, and take care of them when their sick or hurt, The ones who play with their kids....

(Mr. Hobbitfeet and Boy)

Who play with their Grandkids......

(Girl and Grandpa Hobbitfeet)

The ones who never miss holidays or birthdays...

(Me and my Dad some Christmas morning)

Who coach their kids teams, or come to all the games....

(Me with the bat, my Grandpa in the circle)

The ones who wanted to stay, but were taken away...

(Me with my Uncle Tom)

And the ones who fought for their kids with everything they had....

(My sister with my Uncle Rick)

In short for all the real Dads in this world or the next, you're really wonderful!

And heaps of bad karma for those who don't do these things, you stink!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday to my dad. This has always been one of my favorite pictures of me and my dad, even though he has cheesy 80's glasses. It reminds me of half-day kindergarten when my dad had midnights, and was there when I came home from school. We would eat liver saugsage and watch the Price is Right, which was way better than the days Mrs. H. picked me up.
In this picture my dad had to get his picture taken for some manner of I.D. and after he took the first two pictures I got in the booth for the next two, somehow we resisted the urge to make silly faces.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Bad Day

I am very sick today. My dad came down to see Boy's belt test and decided to stay at a hotel so the kids could swim (and probably because my dad doesn't like dogs). I looked in the phonebook and picked the first hotel advertising an indoor pool. That was a big mistake, it wasn't very nice and the area around the pool and the pool itself weren't very warm. The kids didn't seem to care, but I had to be in the pool for Girl, and now I'm sick.
Plus, I hurt my bad knee again and am in lots of pain. Not to mention that we are trying to break Girl of her pacifier and she is CRABBY. I hate being touched when I am sick and Girl wants me to hold her non-stop.
I just want to hide in my bed, but moms don't get to be sick.
