Just Goes To Show You

I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. Now I live in uber-rural East-Central Illinois (which means near Indiana, but equally far from Wisconsin and Kentucky or Missouri).
Now when stated like that, when do you think I was more likely to be awoken by gunfire?
If you said when I lived in Chicago, you'd be wrong. In the entire time I lived in Chicago, I was not privy to any gun violence (that I was aware of). This weekend was the opening of deer season and all I hear are guns going off.
