Totally Awesome Things I Could Never Afford . . . .

Did you ever find something that was completely frivolous but you totally wanted it a knew you would never be able to see your way to spending the money on it. bigREDlips on Etsy has just such a thing. There is nothing I love more in this world than a good WonderMonkey unless it is a good WonderSockMonkey! Unfortunately this monkey is $150 and I could never see my way clear to buying it. There are too many things that I need more (like a week's worth of groceries).

Whoops!

I was running late for work this morning and forgot to take a picture. Then, when I got home, it was too dark to make any impact. I have therefore decided to post one of my rejected photos from my fun Monday assignment. especially since today looked a lot like yesterday. This weekend is supposed to be warm though so maybe I'll have fun pictures for you.

Just so you know, it was rejected because you couldn't see WM's bathing suit.

Fun Monday!

Today's Fun Monday comes from Min at Mama Drama. Who doesn't love a challenge like this?

To compose an exceptionally bad opening sentence for any piece of writing (not limited to novels...but not including blog posts) and to include a photograph or brief description of some aspect of that sentence.

After a long, hard day at work, Sarah was looking forward to a relaxing afternoon tending her prizewinning roses; but, just as she settled onto her knees near her Sutter’s Golds, she heard a screech and saw a flash of red, brown, and blue out of the corner of her eye. “Damn it, Lulu!” she screeched in frustration as she threw down her pruning shears, “Stay out of the dogwoods, you know you’re too large to climb them.” She glared fiercely at the three-foot-tall chimpanzee in the Wonder woman bathing suit as it bounced unconcernedly on the tiny tree.

If my neighbors heard me this morning, they would have been puzzled. "Come on Girl, look mad at the monkey!"

Sunny Days!

Today's March pictures feature Girl (and Wonder Monkey). It's a very sunny day, although it's still pretty cold. The sun outside prompted Boy to say "I love when the sun is up when I wake up." To which Mr. Hobbitfeet replied with a long lecture on Daylight savings time. Blah, blah, blah, energy. Sometimes he sounds like the parents in a Peanuts cartoon.
Boy was also begging to go to school without a coat again, but the high is only 41.

Girl did get to ride her trike for a second or two before running inside for warmer clothes.

Riveted By Stats!

When I originally started this blog, I didn't put a Sitemeter on it. I figured whoever visited, visited, cool.
But about a month or so ago I added one and I find it very interesting. I don't really care about the numbers, I just like to see the interesting information that comes of it. For instance if you google - don't mind me jokes pictures- which someone, somewhere did, I come up 7th on that list also someone googled- pharmacist stupid- and came up with me as well. Also someone searched Excite for Esleep Pajamas, and got me not once but twice!
I don't know why, that just fascinates me, but it really, really does. I am just hoping that when one googles Wonder Woman Monkey, I show up on that list!

Weirdest Thing...

One of the blogs I read regularly wants to know the weirdest thing I own. I am not sure that in acuality it is the weirdest thing I own, but when people hear about it, they think I am weird. So I thought I would share though I don't really want a poodle painting.

See once upon a time I was 20 and had a baby boy....

and when that baby boy was about 18 months old, and I was a single mom with no other children even twinkling in my eyes....

and everyone I knew only had boys or no children at all....

I went thrift store shopping with my sister (woo hoo La Sirena!!!)...

and there it was for $1....

THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER......

A WONDER (effing) WOMAN BATHING SUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and I bought it, because one day I knew that either me or my sisters would have a little girl and that little girl would NEED a wonder woman bathing suit and the chances of finding another were slim to none...........

and I saved it, for 6.5 years......

and finally had my little girl....

and that little girl had her Wonder Woman bathing suit, BUT...

I couldn't get rid of it...

BECAUSE someday my little girl might have a little girl, and that little girl will also NEED to have a Wonder Woman bathing suit!!! But until then.....

*Side note the Monkey ended up in a lot of great games after I took its picture, with lots of "Great Hera"s.

I love what I've done to my daughter!!
